Weak Gravity Conjecture for Noncommutative Field Theory

چکیده
We investigate the weak gravity bounds on the U(1) gauge theory and scalar field theories in various dimensional noncommutative space. Many results are obtained, such as the upper bound on the noncommutative scale gYMMp for four dimensional noncommutative U(1) gauge theory. We also discuss the weak gravity bounds on their commutative counterparts. For example, our result on 4 dimensional noncommutative U(1) gauge theory reduces in certain limit to its commutative counterpart suggested by Arkani-Hamed et.al at least at tree-level.

Weak gravity conjecture constraints on inflation
We consider the gravitational correction to the coupling of the scalar fields. Weak gravity conjecture says that the gravitational correction to the running of scalar coupling should be less than the contribution from scalar fields. For instance, a new scale Λ = λ 1/2 4 Mp sets a UV cutoff on the validity of the effective λ4φ 4 theory. Furthermore, this conjecture provides a stringent constrain...
متن کاملA proof of the weak gravity conjecture
The weak gravity conjecture suggests that, in a self-consistent theory of quantum gravity, the strength of gravity is bounded from above by the strengths of the various gauge forces in the theory. In particular, this intriguing conjecture asserts that in a theory describing a U(1) gauge field coupled consistently to gravity, there must exist a particle whose proper mass is bounded (in Planck un...
متن کاملWeak Gravity Conjecture with Large Extra Dimensions
In the presence of large extra dimensions, the fundamental Planck scale can be much lower than the apparent four-dimensional Planck scale. In this setup, the weak gravity conjecture implies a much more stringent constraint on the UV cutoff for the U(1) gauge theory in four dimensions. This new energy scale may be relevant to LHC. Extra dimensions are naturally required in some fundamental theor...
متن کاملA Weak Gravity Conjecture for Scalar Field Theories
Scalars, such as Higgs and inflaton, play significant roles in both particle physics and cosmology. Recently, Vafa et.al. conjectured an upper bound on the strength of gravity relative to gauge forces in quantum gravity [4]. Their conjecture enriches the criteria of consistent effective field theory proposed in [2, 3]. These criteria help to constrain the string landscape [1] in the vast vacua ...
متن کاملWeak Gravity Conjecture for the Effective Field Theories with N Species
We conjecture an intrinsic UV cutoff for the validity of the effective field theory with a large number of species coupled to gravity. In four dimensions such a UV cutoff takes the form Λ = √ λ/NMp for N scalar fields with the same potential λφ4i , i = 1, ..., N . This conjecture implies that the assisted chaotic inflation or N-flation might be in the swampland, not in the landscape. Similarly ...
